Khao Yai National Park is famous for its natural beauty and the magnificent mountain ranges which have been named a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2005. Khao Yai National Park, third largest national park in Thailand, covers an area of 2,168 square kilometres of tropical rainforest and grasslands. There are walking trails, waterfalls and look-outs for you to visit. The park also offers animal spotting at night. Please find more details here or here.

There are a few options for you to explore the park by taking your own car or rental van (the van must be booked at least one day in advance. Please refer to Transportation). The park opens at 6 am and admits last entry at 6 pm. There is an entry fee of 400 THB for adult and 200 THB for child and vehicle fee of 50 THB. If you decide to stay on late in the evening to go on a night safari tour with the park rangers, you must contact the park office well in advance at the visitor center as the night safari is only available in some season. Please allow yourself at least 3 hours in the park to explore and visit the many waterfalls. We can also recommend a fantastic tour operator that will take you on a full-day trip which leaves from the National Park entrance at 8.30 am and return at 7 pm (prices upon enquiry). We can arrange a drop-off and pick-up from our vineyard to the park entrance for 1,000 THB. The tour operator also provides a half-day bat-watching and natural spring tour.

Khaoyai Fantasy is another adventure park located on Thanarat road. Open daily 8 am – 5 pm.

For more agro-tourism, Farm Chokchai is a dairy farm with tours and lots of activities for children. It is another destination not to be missed! Find out more at their website. Another destination we recommend is Khao Yai Panorama Farm, which has a mushroom farm that visitors can visit and do some mushroom-picking. Please be advised that a visit is best during the rainy season, when the humidity level is appropriate for mushrooms to thrive. Both Farm Chokchai and mushroom farm are within 20 minutes’ drive from GranMonte. Khao Yai Farm Village is a 40-minute drive from GranMonte that is good for children: there are lot of activities such as animal feeding, candle making, clay molding & sculpting, mushroom picking, making mushroom spawns, cooking, and terrarium making.

The Khao Yai Art Museum has a gallery, café, modern architectural spaces, and a beautiful outdoor sculpture garden and is perfect for a half-day visit. The museum displays a mix of Thai contemporary and traditional art. Another art destination is the Secret Art Garden, which comprises an art-themed floating market and gardens filled with objects of art in different styles. Visitors can explore houses for painting, sculpture, carpentry, interior designs, and more.
